Thanksgiving Decor
It’s almost that time of year to pull out all of your Thanksgiving Decor!
If want to try something new this year then let your imagination run wild. A great and simple centerpiece can be cost effective too. Try lining red apples down the center of your table. If you really want to get interesting, cut a small hole on the top of each apple and add a tea light. Keep in mind the fall colors while decorating; burnt orange, sienna, green, yellow, brown and deep reds. Adding texture really adds interest especially where it is least expected. Keep cozy throws out on your sofa and bed, for those colder nights to snuggle up in front of the fireplace. Fill a clear jar in your kitchen of marshmallows and chocolate and leave it out on your counter. This is especially cute for holiday parties. Buy gold colored spray paint, or your favorite fall color, and paint over all of your old décor instead of buying new! It is an easy and fun way to make a huge difference in your home. Repetition through design always looks good and makes a great impression.

I can’t believe it’s already the 5th of November. Thanksgiving will be here before we know it. We had so much fun last week decorating a table for a newspaper article. I loved it so much that I kept some of things on the table and am using them this year to decorate. It was great that we got to use my table so that made it easy. We put a very large centerpiece in the middle of the table and filled it with orange silk flowers which made a bold statment when you walked in the room. We were given 2 topiaries to use in our design from our favorite plant contractor, Interior Plant Service. What we did with them was really fun. We bought 2 white pumpkins, medium sized and cut out the middles and then planted them in there. We set one on each side of the large centerpiece. We then begin to layer dishes and napkins at each place setting. Layering is such a great way to put depth into a flat table surface. We used lots of sold greens, golds and then one napkin with a great print that had all those colors. We set a great little pumpkin on top of each plate. It was really cute. We will post the picture once we have it finalized.
